Now I'm not generally an advocate of giving into childrens unreasonable demands but sometimes we parents do take the path of least resistance. Take today for example...I have a headache, the kids have been inside all day cause of the rain and my youngest hasn't eaten anything. Now beyond being picky, he's also stubborn So for dinner I made his favorite food of all time.................oatmeal Not your general dinner fare...but I managed to get in all the food groups, thus tricking him I took half a cup of oatmeal (old school rolled oats) two egg whites whipped up w/ a bit of milk and half a cup of water. Nuked this for 2 min, stirred and nuked for another min Then I added grated apple, a huge dollop of vanilla yogurt and like usual...brown sugar and milk Now my son isn't the brightest bulb in the tanning bed...so because I used all white or tan-ish colored food he is happily eating it while I rest my weary head What kind of ways have you found work well for "tricking" your kids into eating healthy or doing stuff they otherwise don't wanna do?
