Good bye mom...

I can see my mother in the light.
Her eyes are shining, her strength revealed.
Her halo glimmers, so grand and bright.
Her bandages are gone; her wounds have healed.

She lifts her hand to touch my chin.
She wipes away my flowing tears.
I rest my gaze on her loving grin
as her words begin to resound in my ears.

"Cry no more, my darling child.
God has given me a new home.
And though life's battles are sometimes wild,
He won't let you face them all alone.

He'll hold your hand; He'll kiss your cheek
when your heart has lost its way.
If His Guiding Hand is what you seek,
His triumph will reward your enduring faith.

Don't grieve for me now, for I am well.
God has allowed me to suffer no more.
He chose my life away from Hell;
and I live today beneath Heaven's sun.

I find my voice from within my throat.
I love you so much I sadly cry.
My heart is filled with nostalgic hope.
I close my eyes and slowly sigh.

I stare into her soft blue eyes;
I begin to cry like never before.
She is so beautiful, so very wise.
I long to be held in her arms once more.

You gave meaning to my early years.
You comforted me with the softness of your voice.
And through each battle, you wiped my tears
and gave me a reason to rejoice.

I bring my hand to touch her face.
Once again, my tears begin to flow...
She holds me in her warm embrace.
I know it is time for my angel to go.

She winks at me and disappears.
I know that what she said was true.
God has saved me from all that I've feared.
And He gave me my mother to help me, too.

Though now she's gone, she lives within my heart;
I won't forget how her compassion was unsurpassed.
She's watching me from Heaven; we'll never part.
For her is the love that will always last.

Sorry for your loss
Here's a poem I often found comfort in when my father passed away:

Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am in a thousand winds that blow, I am the softly falling snow. I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain. I am in the morning hush, I am in the graceful rush Of beautiful birds in circling flight, I am the starshine of the night. I am in the flowers that bloom, I am in a quiet room. I am in the birds that sing, I am in each lovely thing. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there. I do not die.
