| | | I was watching one of my favourite DVD's the other night, The Shawshank Redemption. During the course of the movie, Tim Robbins said that he would move to Mexico, open a hotel and buy a boat, fix it up and take his guests out fishing on it. The very last scene, you see him with Morgan Freeman, fixing up a boat on beach in Mexico. I can't help but think - you lucky bastards. You had a dream, and you made it happen. So it has made me think of some the dreams I would like to make happen.
1. I would start my own shop selling books, magazines and dvd's, which also serves most drinks including alcohol. This way, you can come in, buy a book or the paper and sit down and read it over a few drinks. If it becomes popular, I would expand my business, or franchise it.
2. Every blokes dream is to own either a pub or a strip joint. Dare I say, mine is both. Seeing as how much fun beer and female strippers have given me, it is only fare that I should contribute something myself.
3. I am a patriotic and vocal Carlton Blues supporter in the AFL. I would buy my beloved team, erase their debts, make them profitable again, buy some good players, and return them to their true home - Princess Park.
4. I would buy myself at least 3 islands. One off the coast of in Queensland in Australia, one in Hawaii, and the other in the Florida Keys. I would have a hotel on each island so all my friends could stay. Each hotel would have its own pub (otherwise I would have no friends), a Subway, a Pizzaria, wendys, and maybe one or two other place. Anyone who stays with me would eat and drink for free. Everyone can bring their dogs, we can play golf, go fishing and get drunk.
5. I would start up my own animal welfare exclusively for Alaskan Malamutes. This includes cross breeds too. No dog will get put down or destroyed. I will look after each dog until it is put in a good home.
6. Start up a trust fund for such animals as Siberian Tigers, to stop the poor fellas from becoming extinct.
